Today we bring our perfect serve of the Knut Hansen Dry Gin. Recommended? Yes! But he could use some extra power! I let you notice it through our tasting notes. N: When opening the Knut Hansen, we received a rather odd smell. Once it has been poured into the glass and the fragrance can open up, the sweet smell of apple comes out strongly. In the nose a floral spicy smell, in which apple remains dominant for us, but it gets a good addition of basil and cucumber. In the nose, juniper seems to be somewhat lost. P: Contrary to the rather sweet smell of the gin, the taste is slightly spicy and warm. Cucumber provides fresh notes and also juniper can be noticed. A surprising taste. F: The finish of the Knut Hansen is spicy, but relatively short. At the end, the basil still holds true. As I have already said, I'm still missing a bit of power, a bit more juniper. Based on this comment, I chose a Fentimans Tonic Water. This to give him the necessary boost! Also trying not to kill the gin completely. However, it is a dangerous tonic to lose the gin, so I choose a simple 1:2 ratio. Not too much tonic, just enough to give the gin some strength. Besides some extra strength, the tonic provides an extra fresh touch, I like it. However, I would also like to mention that my colleague ginurway makes the combination with Aqua Monaco Tonic. It's going to be a little softer and perhaps make the gin speak even more! You should try it if you love the botanicals! Perfect serve: • 5cl Knut Hansen Gin. • 10cl Fentimans Tonic Water. • Garnish with slice of fresh apple. Let us know what you think of it! Cheers, Gintasticbelgium
