Nouaison Gin: Tasting notes and full review

Tasting notes and perfect serve

N: The nose of this gin opens up with notes of green cardamom and coriander. If I leave the glass open for a moment, the sandalwood comes firmly to the front, which gives this gin a unique touch. The freshness of the juniper is also present in the nose. At the end, pepper comes to the fore. What a promising start! P: The palette of flavours opens up warm and smooth. Here I especially notice the presence of the long pepper and cardamom. Sandalwood, just like in the nose, can also be noticed in taste. F: The finish of this gin is medium long. What strikes us most in the aftertaste is what a warm feeling this gin leaves in the mouth. This heat comes from juniper and is assisted by the long pepper. S: We serve this gin with the Fentimans Connoisseurs tonic, pink pepper and some juniper berries!

Background information

Welcome to Maison Villever.

Maison Villevert was founded in 2001 by J. S Robicquet (Winemaker & Distiller). It's located in the heart of the Cognac vineyard, the company is specialised in products based on super premium grapes. The creativity, his dedication and his relentless pursuit to innovate led him to his unique super premium spirits which includes this new Nouaison Gin. Framed by the grape smoothness, rich and intense, with an ABV of 45%. This new Nouaison is made in France and, of course, again with a base of grapes. This in combination with 14 carefully selected botanicals. The new ABV is a bit higher than its previous one, it gives this new gin a very nice upgrade. The recipe is also different this time, but many botanicals have remained secret this time round. Botanicals that they do reveal are rather unseen: plum, java pepper, vetiveria and sandalwood. The Global Launch of this Gin took place on 21 November last year. This in London, Paris and Singapore. Soon the Gin will be displayed in several places. Although it is not really the intention to be available for a large crowd. This new creation was created with the necessary attention to the world of bartenders. A new creation that brings a new perspective to the already existing cocktails. We were pleasantly surprised by this new creation from France. An added value in the mixology world? Definitely! An added value on the Gin shelf? Sure! Cheers, Gintasticbelgium
