Save The Queen Rum - Perfect serve and full review

Today we bring you something totally new. Maybe you remember the review about the Save The Queen Gin. A Gin that brought something totally new to the market, something we have not seen anywhere else yet. And we are both still a huge fan of the Gin. Meanwhile, the men behind Save The Queen have been anything but silent. First there was an Elderflower Liqueur on the market which is delicious as an aperitif or to use in a nice cocktail. And on Venuez they brought a new product with them. This time a rum based on honey.

Olivier immediately served us the Dark 'N Stormy cocktail on Venuez. "You have to try this." A well-known cocktail where rum has been mixed with Ginger Beer. I had to admit to him right away that I'm absolutely no fan of Ginger Beer. I sometimes like to have a slice of ginger in a Gin, but a ginger beer is a lot of ginger. But I gave it a chance, who knows, maybe this is really tasty. WOW! Lovely this combination. The rum together with Thomas Henry's Ginger Beer, a very nice balance. And the Ginger Beer, of which I am normally no fan, was now beautifully withdrawn by the sweeter character of the honey. Tasty fresh and full of taste! Give me a bottle right away! I have to admit, I don't know anything about Rum (unfortunately). So I'm not going to try to explain things which I don't know anything about either. I'll just give you the information I got from Michael and Olivier. The Rum is a blend of 5 year old rums that aged in Bourbon Barrels from Barbados, The Dominican Republic and Jamaica. The pure, full-bodied taste is obtained by adding the honey. The Rum bottles come in 50cl and this time with an ABV of 40%. I have to admit that I love this one. Neat it is also a delicious drink! There will be several bottles of this Rum to follow.

Perfect serve We firstly paired the Rum ourselves with the nice and slightly softer Ginger Beer from Imperdibile. A slice of lime and lots of crushed ice and we are talking about perfection. A great choice for the weekend!

Since we loved the Rum even more than the Save the Queen gin, after three days our bottle was nearly empty. We tried several ginger beers and this is our final perfect serve of the Save the Queen Rum:

- 5 cl Save the Queen Rum

- 15 cl Schweppes Ginger beer and Chili

- A slice of fresh lime

- Lots of crushed ice

This new ginger beer from Schweppes was thé best option for us, since the typical Save the Queen honey flavor comes nicely to the front! You should try our perfect serve next to other ginger beers and let us know what you think!

We also tried it with Franklin & Sons Ginger Beer and Thomas Henry Ginger Beer
