The Dunnet Bay Distillery Days: Day 2 (Rock Rose Tasting notes and perfect serve)

A second day about this Rock Rose Gin. Today I will bring you my tasting notes and personal perfect serve! Hope you enjoy this one as much as we did! N: The nose brings a juniper-forward and earthy/floral character. Piny juniper and coriander are clearly present in the nose and this is accompanied by angelica root. In the background some citrus notes (perhaps lemon?) seem to play. When adding a drop of water, cardamom comes forward. P: The palette of the gin is less earthy than I expected after what i've experienced in the nose. In the taste, the floral notes of roses come out beautifully, again together with coriander. The juniper is present here, and provides warm feeling in the mouth. F: The finish of this first Rock Rose gin is long and dry at the end. The warmth of the juniper provides a beautiful finish. S: As a perfect serve we combine this Rock Rose Gin with a J.Gasco 13.5 tonic. It brings the flavors of the gin beautifully to the front and keeps everything well balanced. If you don't have this tonic you can also combine it with a J.Gasco Indian tonic, a combination of which we are both fans. As garnish we choose a few juniper berries, a sprig of rosemary and a part of dried orange. Simply Amazing! We hope that you loved the first 2 Dunnet Bay Distillery Days! There is more coming for you very soon! Stay Tuned! Cheers, Gintasticbelgium
