Venuez: Event Review (English)

From Sunday 25 March 2018 to 27 March 2018 you can visit Venuez. An event where you can visit a lot of new or already known brands. You can taste their products, have a bite and there is a lot of entertainment in the venue. It promised to be an incredibly fun day! The event started on Sunday 25 March and we were present!

After a small search through Antwerp, we arrived at the right location. Already some familiar faces at the entrance, this looks good!

Hang away your coat, ready to discover Venuez!

First to our good friend Servedbysoberon (Matthias Soberon), we found him at the Filliers stand. He was invited to make cocktails here for an hour! It's great to see him working behind the bar. A delicious cocktail that was a little sweeter, but not too sweet. For this cocktail he used the new Filliers Pink Gin, an elderflower liqueur, orange blossom water, champagne and lime. A wonderful start of the day!

If you visit a Filliers stand, you will of course also see Jeffrey Snoeks. I could also chat with him for a while! He was especially pleased that he could introduce the new genevers of Filliers. A series of Barrel aged genevers ranging from 0 years to 21 years of maturation. A very nice concept bottled in beautiful bottles. Especially the 0 year old gin was a very nice one for me. A lot of juniper, you couldn't separate it from a Gin. So delicious! If I buy a bottle of it, I'd love to tell you more about those products.

After Filliers we visited the bees of Venuez. Save The Queen from Aalst was also present at Venuez! We brought the Gin to our profile just a while ago, but they also brought their latest new products. An elderflower liqueur that was very nice with a sweet touch of honey. The last newcomer was a Rum! Of course they also add some honey to this product. Although I am absolutely no connoisseur of rum, this was sublime. We tasted a few cocktails based on the liqueur and the rum. And even though I'm not a fan of Ginger Beer, this was so soft that I enjoyed emptying the glass without any problem.

So the afternoon went on, trying new things the whole time. But we also started chatting with some of the people we already know from previous meetings. So we came to Ben Belmans who stood on Venuez with his own Belroy's range. We also went to Bishop's Gin who this time brought a new Gin. A very pleasant surprise. The first Bishop's Gin we had at home was pretty soft for me. The new Gin is with an addition of Marmelade, which not only ensures a more fruity character, but there is also more spice than the first Gin. Very nice product! Looking forward to work with it!

It's always great to get to know new things and be able to taste them. That's how we came into contact with Jessie Wiggings a little while ago. The woman behind Manchester Gin. She emailed us about the brand new bottles they were going to bring to the market. We were asked to make a review of this new bottle and its contents.

Very unexpectedly we were able to meet the lovely couple behind Manchester Gin, Jen and Seb at Venuez. A small but very attractive booth from Manchester Gin. We introduced ourselves shortly, but soon went over to tasting.

I would like to say with complete conviction that, for me, this was the discovery of Venuez. Without a doubt the best of the best. They had brought 3 gins. An ordinary signature gin, a wild spirit and a raspberry Gin. 3 very tasty gins of which the Wild Spirit was the best for me. I started to talk about the gins I like to drink. I also said that I really like to drink Navy Strenght Gins. And suddenly a Navy Strenght Gin appeared on the table. They didn't really introduce that one to Venuez, but they did want us to taste this bad boy.

And the Overboard Gin, that was the discovery of Venuez. Delicious! Immediately I asked if I could buy a bottle. Normally that wasn't possible, but luckily they had brought 1 bottle with them that I could buy. So I was very happy to return home with the best of Venuez.

Besides all of this we visited some other exhibitors, but if you want to know all this too... then you just have to take a look at VENUEZ yourself!

To conclude briefly!

A nice day with a lot of alcohol and nice conversations!
